COBIT is an acronym of Control Objectives for Information and related Technology. Contains 34 IT processers grouped into 4 domains, namely:
Plan and Organise
Acquire and Implement
Deliver and Support
Monitor and Evaluate
An organisation can be assesses by mapping maturity levels against each area in the range 0 = Non Existent to 5 = Optimised. Can be used to test for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
TOGAF is an acronym of The Open Group Architecture Framework. Relevant facts are:
1.TOGAF Version 1 – 1995 based on Technical Framework for Information Management (TAFIM) from US Department of Defence
2.Contains Architecture Development Method (ADM) – work breakdown structure. Users can extend the process and the EVA repository can store project artefacts.
3.The Enterprise Continuum – building block management
4.The Technical Reference Model (TRM) – contains all architecture element types defined in TRM available as data types in the EVA repository. All elements of architecture can be classified according to TRM.
5.The Standards Information Base (SIB) – defined and populated in EVA. SIB can be expended to include additional standards. Stored in EVA or use link to a standard store. Standards in SIB associated directly with other architectures.
